Mountains with clouds on top of them

It is our great honor to once again collaborate with ALIEN ART CENTRE to create the key visual design for the highly anticipated solo exhibition of Jiro Kamata—Celestial Eyes. This marks the third solo exhibition of the renowned artist, celebrated for his distinctive micro-optical sculptures—art jewelry that masterfully plays with light and color refraction. His mesmerizing works often evoke imagery of black holes, galaxies, and mythical legends, exuding an enchanting sense of cosmic mystery.

The theme of this exhibition draws inspiration from astronomical phenomena in the universe. Through the interplay of light refraction and innovative materials, Jiro Kamata presents a series of dreamlike artworks reminiscent of black holes and galaxies. To complement his creations, our key visual design centers around the concept of the “lens.” The exhibition title is deconstructed and scattered randomly, resembling twinkling stars in the vast cosmos. Each letter is embedded within a circular “lens,” symbolizing an independent microcosm radiating brilliance within infinite space. The text within the lenses is distorted, creating a refraction effect that mimics the perspective of viewing the world through a lens. This visual approach reflects the ethereal colors of starlight shimmering in the night sky, while also conveying a sense of mystery and imagination—an homage to the unseen wonders of the universe.

Through this design, we hope to guide the audience into Jiro Kamata’s artistic universe, inviting them to experience his unique interpretation of the cosmos and his boundless creativity.
